چکیده

Chemically sensitive coatings via supra-molecular chemistry are preferably combined with mass-sensitive devices. Thus, the quartz-crystal-balance (QCM) and the surface acoustic wave (SAW) oscillator allow monitoring inclusion phenomena from nanogram down to the sub-femto-gram range. A deeper insight into the inclusion process of analytes by e.g. cyclodextrines, calixarenes and paracyclophanes is obtained by modelling procedures, which offer to predict the sensitivity and selectivity of sensor coatings. The robustness of the materials is further enhanced by cross-linking which leads to functionalized polymers. This strategy is further developed by templating, in most cases identical to analytes, the polymer materials enable us to perform both gasand liquid-phase measurements due to their inertness. The flexibility of imprinting technique allows us to produce more selective and optimized recognition sites for the detection of aromatic, halogenated, polycyclic hydrocarbons and even complex mixtures e.g. oil degradation, composting are also accessible to monitor at isomeric level.

Biomimetic Receptors and Sensors

In biomimetics, living systems are imitated to develop receptors for ions, molecules and bioparticles. The most pertinent idea is self-organization in analogy to evolution in nature, which created the key-lock principle. Today, modern science has been developing host-guest chemistry, a strategy of supramolecular chemistry for designing interactions of analytes with synthetic receptors. This can...

Mass Spectrometric Detection of Nanoparticle Host–Guest Interactions in Cells

Synthetic host-guest chemistry is a versatile tool for biomedical applications. Characterization and detection of host-guest complexes in biological systems, however, is challenging due to the complexity of the biological milieu. Here, we describe and apply a mass spectrometric method to monitor the association and dissociation of nanoparticle (NP)-based host-guest interactions that integrates ...

Effect of Alkyl Tail on the Visible Spectra and Order Parameters S of some Azo N-Ester-1,8-naphthalimide(ANEN) Disperse Dyestuff

This research is an attempt to measure the effect of alkyl tail on the visible spectra and order parameters S of some azo N-ester-1,8-naphthalimide(ANEN) disperse dyestuff. For the first time, the visible absorption spectra of two azo N-ester-1,8-naphthalimide(ANEN) dyes with identical molecular size and diverse alkyl tails were obtained in liquids and liquid crystalline solvent. Ordinary organ...

Engineering Nano-aggregates: β-Cyclodextrin Facilitates the Thiol-Gold Nanoparticle Self-Assembly

The structure and morphology of nonmaterial formed by colloidal synthesis represent a subject of interest as it is a factor deciding the physicochemical properties and biological applications of nanostructures. Among various nanoparticles, gold can develop fractal assembled patterns. Herein, we report a nano-aggregate of a thiol-on-gold self-assembled structure and the influence of β-cyclodextr...
